Ido Fishman Shares Exercise Tips for Beginners

Are you thinking about starting a new exercise regimen? It is undoubtedly a daunting prospect because you know it is going to hurt. There will be days when you will not have any motivation and have to drag yourself to the gym. Plus, even the thought of sweating in front of all those muscled and toned people can intimidate just about anyone. However, Ido Fishman says that you should not let this get you down and stop you from engaging in exercise that can offer you a world of benefits.

If you are feeling apprehensive, you can take advantage of the following exercise tips that Ido Fishman recommends for beginners to help them stay motivated and to make the most of their efforts:

  • Set realistic goals

First things first, you have to understand that you cannot go to the gym on day one and expect to shed weight. Ido Fishman says that you have to have realistic goals and expectations from exercise. It is not a miracle that will give you results overnight, but you will get them, as long as you remain consistent and keep at it. The key is to break down your ultimate goal into smaller stages and goals, as this will help you stay motivated in the long run.

  • Stay consistent

One of the most important things to bear in mind is that you can only get results with consistency. Every expert, including Ido Fishman, will tell you that you need to stick to your regime and avoid stops and starts every now and then if you are interested in results.

  • Don’t go overboard

Once you start feeling the difference, it can be tempting to up the game. Ido Fishman suggests that you increase your difficulty level gradually, rather than trying to do too much too quickly. You can kick things up a notch by 10% every week and not more.

  • Accept the feelings

It is understood that when you start exercising, you are going to experience some discomfort. This includes aching muscles, sweating and shortness of breath. It is perfectly normal for you to feel like this when you start out, so there is no need to worry.

  • Warm up

You need to avoid a blunder that is very common amongst beginners; not warming up. Ido Fishman suggests that before you start a session, you should thoroughly warm up your body, especially the areas that will do the most work during the workout. You should remember that failing to do so will only increase your risk of injury, so it is best to not make this mistake.

  • Choose the right time

No two people are the same or have the same routine. Ido Fishman recommends that you pick the right time of the day for exercising i.e. when you have the most energy. Some people prefer exercising early morning, while others may get their workout in the middle of the day. The key is to do it when you are energized, as it will keep you going.

  • Drink plenty of water

Drinking lots of water is important before you start exercising, during the exercise and after it as well. This is especially true when you are exercising for long periods, or in warm conditions. There will be a drop in your performance if you are dehydrated and severe dehydration can be very dangerous. Ido Fishman suggests that you keep a water bottle handy when you start exercising.

  • Try new things

You need to keep your regimen fresh and Ido Fishman recommends that you keep trying new exercises, activities and workouts to do so. This will help in preventing boredom and will also challenge your body. If your body settles into an exercise routine, it will stop showing results, so mixing things up is always a good idea. As long as the exercises are safe, you can give new ones a try.
