 Outdoor Training: Tips And Benefits

The good weather is here at last and the time has come to leave home. It may be too early to jump into the outdoor pool, or not but training outdoors as part of your routine, whether running, cycling, or practicing yoga in the park, can bring many benefits to the body and mind.

Tips For Training Outdoors

  • Always think about hydration. Water is generally the best option to drink before and during training. Unless the session is long or you sweat a lot, you probably don’t need to recharge glycogen or electrolytes. In any case, not until you’re done.
  • Protect yourself from the sun. Do not forget sunscreen and sunglasses. The radiation may not be very intense yet, but it is worth taking the habit as you spend more time outside.
  • Always choose appropriate clothes. We recommend that you use breathable fabrics, these will help you stay comfortable while training.

Benefits Of Training Outdoors

  • It improves mood and reduces stress. Outdoor training helps us strengthen mental health. Practicing physical exercise outside, especially in green spaces or near water, improves mood and self-esteem. In addition, approaching nature has a calming effect and reduces stress
  • It brings more energy and vitality. A new scenario helps you maintain interest and encourages your desire to go further. Also, breathing pure air gives you a greater feeling of energy and vitality. The variety of terrain and wind resistance provides you with the stimulus you need to work balance and coordination
  • Promotes constancy. The data show that outdoor physical activity invites more constant practice. Outdoor training motivates people to continue.

All the physical exercise you do benefits you, but outdoor exercise has additional advantages. If the sun tempts you through the window, don’t resist. Training outdoors is a great way to lift your spirits, and that renewed momentum will make you perform more.

What Clothes Do I Wear To Train In Summer

First, what should you avoid? To increase your comfort:

  • Forget about cotton fabrics. They are not light, soak quickly, and increase their weight
  • Clothes that are too tight can prevent sweat from perspiring
  • Leave the sleeves for the winter; they will make you sweat more and get small friction in the armpits due to sweating
  • Avoid colors that are too dark. We know that black is the color par excellence in sportswear, but it is not the most suitable for these hot months

Opt Better For

  • Breathable and polyester fabrics. They are much lighter, comfortable, and effective when living with sweat, enhance its evaporation and therefore improve the thermoregulation of your body
  • Shorts or tights with openings and light, allowing greater ventilation
  • T-shirts made of synthetic fabric and quick-drying, with straps and slightly loose
  • Light colors in summer are highly recommended. They do not attract the sun so much, and, in addition, they will highlight the brown that we shine in these months
